Tips for Parents

  • Here's how to talk to your child about it

After watching this video, you learned about empathy. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. It's important to put yourself in someone else's shoes and show kindness and understanding towards them.

  • Some activities you can do with your child now

    - Discuss with your child what empathy means and ask them if they have ever experienced a situation where they felt empathy towards someone, like when a friend hurt their toe. - Encourage your child to express empathy by comforting others when they are feeling down, like giving a hug or saying kind words to a friend who got a bad grade. - Help your child understand the importance of not being too hard on themselves when they make mistakes, and remind them of a time when you made a mistake and felt the same way. - Encourage your child to use empathy to build meaningful relationships with others, and ask them to think of someone they admire and why they admire them for their empathy.
