Are your kids obsessed with Dinosaurs? Struggling to keep kids entertained during school holidays? Hatching Dinosaur Eggs is an amazing science experiment / activity for curious minds that you could easily do at home with the help of two ingredients - baking soda and vinegar. This experiments is super simple and it is based on the traditional baking soda and vinegar reaction. Leo and his friends absolutely loved it! First start by colouring the baking soda, we have used poster paint and food colouring. Next add some water, a little bit at a time so that you have a paste like consistency that sticks when you press it together. Take a bit of mixture in one hand and press a dinosaur on to it, use more mixture to cover the dinosaur up. Keep going until you get a good size egg. You can either use one colour or combine multiple colours for a rainbow like effect. Use some glitter for an extra effect. Once your Dino eggs are ready place them in the freezer for at least one hour. We have kept ours in the freezer over night. When the Dino eggs are ready use syringes or squeeze bottles to squirt vinegar on the eggs. You can also poor some dishwashing liquid on the bottom of the tray or bowl for extra bubbles. This is a perfect activity for a dinosaur themed birthday party.
