In this video, we cut a square hole, triangular hole, letter hole and a perfect star. Who knew that cutting holes in a piece of paper could be so fun and very educational. A fold&cut theorem states that any shape with straight sides can be cut out with a single cut if you fold a piece of paper the right way. So we started testing it. I asked Alex to make a square hole in the paper, and he made one with three cuts. Then I asked him to cut the same hole but cut only twice, and he made that happen too. Needless to say, he then found a way to cut a square hole with only one cut. After that, we started playing with other shapes too. The coolest thing was that we found a way to cut some letters too. "L" was a simple one. Some letters were tricky to find the solution.
