Here is a sweet and simple science experiment, using those delicious gummy bears, that you can try today! During this activity, children can become mini scientists and begin to make predictions about how each gummy bear will react to different variables. They can record their thoughts and then compare them to their findings. This experiment is also great for teaching osmosis (the process where water molecules move from a high concentration to a lower one). Why not give it a try today? ⭕ Materials: - 5 glasses - 5 gummy bears - Water (½ cup) - Sugar (1 tbsp) - Salt (1 tbsp) - Fizzy cola drink (½ cup) - Vinegar (½ cup) ⭕ Instructions: (1) To set up this experiment, pour water into 3 of the glasses. (2) Leave the first glass to just have water in it. In the second glass, add the sugar and in the third glass, add the salt. (3) In the fourth glass, pour in some fizzy cola drink and in the fifth pour in the vinegar. (4) Then, add a gummy bear into each glass. (5) Wait for 12 hours then take a look at each gummy bear. What differences can you spot? How do they compare to a normal gummy bear?
