The Story of John Brown's Raid on Harper's Ferry

A trip to a wax museum and a conversation with a local historian tell the story of John Brown's raid on Harper's Ferry. On October 16, 1859, an abolotionist named John Brown led a raid on the armory in Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. The goal was to take the weapons from the armory and distribute them to enslaved people, launching an armed rebellion against slavery. While the raid was ultimately unsuccessful and many of the raiders where killed or hanged, this event had a lasting impact on United States history and the anti-slavery movement.
