In this live-action program viewers will learn that during every moment of your life you are breathing in air and exhaling carbon dioxide through a process called gaseous exchange and it takes place in the Alveoli. Students will come to understand that gaseous exchange refers to movement of oxygen into the blood and carbon dioxide out of the blood and that this process takes place exactly at the same time in tiny air sacs called the alveoli. They will discover that alveoli provide a huge surface area for diffusion of gases which is the movement of a substance from a high to a low concentration. The program discusses that virtually every cell in the body needs oxygen in order to perform its function and to keep us alive.
