In this live-action program viewers will learn that oxygen is necessary for life and is used to create energy in cellular respiration. Students will come to understand Cellular respiration is required for life, and breathing, which is how higher animals absorb oxygen. They will discover that during gaseous exchange, oxygen and carbon dioxide are transferred in opposite directions across a specialized respiratory surface and a web of tiny blood vessels called capillaries envelope each alveolus where the gas exchange occurs.
