You learned that gymnastics is performed on special equipment called apparatus, there are different events in gymnastics such as artistic, rhythmic, and trampoline, women had to wait until 1928 to compete in the Olympics, men and women perform different events, and gymnastic uniforms come in many colors and designs.
Some activities you can do with your child now

- Create a mini gymnastics competition at home using pillows as apparatus and have your child perform routines. - Watch videos of gymnastic competitions together and discuss the different events and skills they see. - Research the history of gymnastics and share interesting facts with your child, such as Friedrich Ludwig John's contributions and the inclusion of women in the Olympics. - Encourage your child to create their own gymnastics routine using their imagination and household objects as props.
